… the people that I love and who love me, even though neither they nor I are perfect
… the parents that raised me and taught me right from wrong
… the people who have gone before me and paved the way
… the lessons of my life, both good and bad
… the ability to rise each day with my health and all my senses intact
… the roof over my head, the food in my belly and the clothes on my back
… the opportunity to follow my dreams and to speak my mind
… the knowledge that God is always on my side
On this day of thanks, what are you thankful for?
I’m thankful for my 10-year-old son. When I am happy – which is not all the time – it is because of him. He is intelligent and beautiful. And I am not hesitating to bring him up with my political values
I’m thankful for an immediate family of mother, father, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew. We’re going through my father’s declining health right now, mainly because of Parkingson’s Disease, and it’s a strain on all of us. But we’re doing what we have to do.
I’m thankful for health, too, and also thankful for my own abilities, which I need to use to my maximum ability.
I’m thankful to be alive in interesting times….fulfilling the old Chinese saying. It is both a blessing and a curse, but I’m glad to be on the Earth at this time and I’d like to make some impact on what happens…..we’ll see.
My thanks to all who work in a positive way to better our world. You’re the people I consider allies and colleagues.
I wonder why we’re so quick to share what we’re unhappy with, yet this thread – which is all about celebrating the good – remains with a single comment.
Perhaps because it was posted over a holiday weekend and not many people were online. I think Vivian did a fine job of putting together a good list herself, not much anyone can add to it.
