The election season has started. I was surprised at the number of forums as well as the number of candidates this year. Last night I went to the Sierra Club forum for Hampton City Council. I like going to subject-specific forums because the questions get more in depth on that subject and you can see if the candidate really has an understanding of that areas issues. I also like forums like that of the Pan-Hellenic Councils on April 15th, where the sponsor does not endorse candidates. I have attended forums in the past sponsored by groups who endorse candidates; they seem to target the candidates they did not endorse. While I like to know what groups endorse which candidates, in the end I like to just make up my own mind.
So here are a list of upcoming forums that I know of for Hampton. Some are City Council and some include School Board candidates.
- Sun, March 30, 3 pm – Aberdeen Garden Forum, Aberdeen Elem. School.
- ADDED: Mon, April 14, 7pm – Riverdale Forum,Paul Burbank Elem School, 40 Tide Mill Lane
- Tue, April 15, 6 pm – Pan-Hellenic Council , Alpha Center 2205 Andrews Bvd.
